Angelo - 8 months

Well, I really meant to give an update every month...but here we are in at the end of March, AJ is almost 11 months old! Ever since Christmas it seems our family has just had one sickness after the other...I am hoping we are finally at the end of being sick! Spring is here and we can play outside and get some nice fresh air! Yay!

Well, even though you are almost 11 months, AJ, I will still try to go back in time a little and write about your 8th month of life!

Let's see...8 months would put us back at January 4th! Right after Christmas you got really, really sick and gave mommy a scare! What started out as you and Caroline having a cold turned into bronchitis for you! We were back and forth several times to the dr and even had one trip to the ER! When I first took you in to the dr they put you on a nebulizer. I was also told that you had an ear infection and they put you in antibiotics. After one day on the antibiotics it was clear that they were making you more sick so I took you back in. Another dr saw you this time and said you did not actually have an ear infection (apparently the 1st one misdiagnosed you). The new dr took you off the antibiotics but kept you on the nebulizer treatment every 3-4 hrs. You did ok with that, but you were still not eating or drinking and you were gagging and throwing up a lot. You started to sleep more than usual and kept falling on the floor so the dr had me take you to the ER to check for dehydration and get some fluids. Well, while we were waiting in the ER you suddenly decided to drink a ton. They checked your lungs and they sounded clear so we went home. I did the nebulizer a couple more times to wean you off of it since they told me your lungs were clear, but after only one day being off of it I took you back to the dr because it didn't seem like you were getting better. You wouldn't eat anything and you weren't drinking as much as usual. You were gagging and throwing up a lot, and sleeping more than usual. It was a good thing I took you back because they told me your oxygen level was at 50% that morning! They gave you a steroid nebulizer treatment and it went up to 90%. The dr sent me home with a RX for the steroid and said to watch you very closely and come back in about 5 days. When we came back they said you were all clear so we weaned you off of everything! You started to eat and drink normally again, but over the next month it seemed like you were still breathing heavily at times. At your 9 month checkup we found out that you STILL had bronchitis and they put you on antibiotics! Why they didn't put you on antibiotics for the bronchitis to begin with is beyond me! Anyway, after you finished the awful antibiotics you were all better :-)

During this month, despite being sick, you mastered a few more skills
*You not only became a pro at crawling, but you also learned to pull yourself up to stand and started cruising along furniture.
*You still have 8 teeth.
*Now that you crawl you really like to chase Caroline and try and get whatever she is playing with. Sometimes this makes her mad and you guys fight a little. You are pretty stubborn and so is she!
*You weigh around 19 lbs.
*Since you were sick just about the whole month you slept really well because you were feeling so miserable!

Here are a few pictures from that awful month!

Still smiling even though you feel sick!
One of your favorite spots to play.
After you were feeling a little better we had a day where it was 60 degrees in January! We took the chance to get some fresh air at the park and you were both SO happy!
Modeling a hat I made...you are SO cute!

A couple of older videos...you were 7 months in both, but I couldn't get them to upload last time I tried.
