For those of you who voted BOY...you are wrong! I can officially say that I was not wrong because a week ago I changed my vote to girl. I decided I should change it to what I wanted it to be and not what I thought it was.
"It" can now be referred to as a "she". We went this morning and she wasn't shy at all, she just opened her legs right up so we could see. I was in shock because I have been telling myself for so long that it has to be a boy!
Tom and I are both overjoyed. Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and caring words! We greatly appreciate it! I'm overjoyed not only because we are having a healthy baby girl, but also because I get to buy dresses and bows! Yay! Any advice from mothers of girls, baby girls, would be greatly appreciated and accepted!

yeah! little girls are so much fun! rule #1: get a bow on that girls head at all times. Even dressed in all pink people will ask you about HIM unless you have a bow on and then everyone will drool! I made the mistake with Maria, but have made up with Layla.

Advice about little girls? Seems I'm in the same boat as you! The only advice I have to offer, and it isn't gender specific, is to get a LOT of help when you come home. You may be up and around right away and not need it, or you may take longer to recover and wish you had someone around.

Yay! A Girl! That's so exciting!!! (And I ditto the advice about making sure you have help right after the baby is born! It really does help you as you adjust to parenthood)
I am soooo excited for you. I just love little girls they are fun to buy for. Are you going to have a baby shower down here? I can't wait if you are.
I can't wait to have a girl someday!! One thing I'll be doing -- Buy plain headbands, and flowers or bows that clip/pin on. Lots more variety, less money!

All I can say is you'll be tempted to buy a gazillion pink cute outfits and I promise you she'll only wear 1/2 of them. Once she spits up, blows out the diaper, etc. you aren't as willing to put her in the new outfits as often. :)

My experience with a little girl so far is that their emotions are just as up and down as grown women's emotions are. Huh, guess we never grow out of it. Try to be patient and let her become her own little person. About the bows...I've had a few people ask me about "him" but bows are fairly impractical most of the time. All you have to do is correct them.
